As part of our commitment to making a meaningful difference in the communities around us, Ideal Group launched the “Share a Book, Shape a Future” initiative to mark World Book Day. The initiative was built around a simple yet powerful idea: a book that has finished its journey with one reader can begin an entirely new journey with another.
Our employees came together to donate books they had treasured over the years, as well as books their children had outgrown. Each contribution carried a story, a memory and the potential to inspire a young mind.
The collected books were donated to the library of WP/MT Pareigama Maha Vidyalaya, Pareigama, a school where access to educational resources remains limited. Through this initiative, we hoped to do more than add books to a library. We wanted to open doors to knowledge, imagination and possibility for the students who will read them.
During the visit, the Ideal Group team also had the privilege of taking part in the school’s Prefects’ Badge Awarding Ceremony. It was a particularly meaningful occasion as we witnessed young students stepping forward to take on leadership responsibilities and become role models for their peers.
Adding further value to the visit, our team conducted a motivational session for the students, encouraging them to believe in themselves, dream boldly and pursue their goals with courage and determination. The enthusiasm and curiosity of the students reminded us that sometimes, all a young person needs is a little encouragement to believe that their dreams are within reach.
For us, this initiative was not simply about donating books. It was about investing in potential.
A single book can introduce a child to a new world. A new idea can inspire a dream. A dream, when supported with education, confidence and opportunity, can change a life.
At Ideal Group, we are proud to play a small part in that journey.
